In the early 1900's, the milkman would deliver bottles of milk to our front door. At the top of the bottle, a layer of cream
or sweet cream would form. We had a special curved spoon provided by the dairy to ladle the cream off the top. My dad
would put that perfectly measured dollop of cream in his coffee or my mother would spoon out several dollops into a
EAPG cream pitcher for later use. Cream is a dairy product composed of high butterfat and it was common in most
households. Of course, the milk went into the the EAPG pitcher but it could be used for other liquids too.
