Reuzeit Emporium has a nice selection of both vintage and antique carnival glass. Carnival glass is sprayed with chemicals to produce an
iridescent sheen. These unusual colors have entranced collectors for a hundred years. The beautiful multicolored pieces, seems to change
color when viewed at different angles and in different light. Through the years, it's been called "Taffeta," "Cinderella," and "Poor Man's Tiffany," and it gave the
average housewife the ability to adorn her home with fancy and
decorative glass. Carnival glass was first produced in the early 1900 by the
Fenton Glass Company of Williamston, West Virginia. The idea was to mass-produce a beautiful glass that could compete with the expensive, iridescent art glass made by Tiffany and Steuben. This process was soon followed by other glass manufacturers. Check out these websites: internationalcarnivalglass.com & carnivalglass.org
